On April 27, 2017, I was given a “1” for my order number at Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe. I took a picture of it and posted it on Facebook. For whatever reason, I thought I should take more pictures of my order numbers, but that wasn’t until 5 months later. Now, it’s 635 days since that first picture, and I now have 128 different. What does this mean? I eat out too much, probably.
Things I learned:
- I ate at 19 different restaurants that gave out numbers. I did each at different locations of some, but I only counted them as one (like Taco Mama, Panera Bread).
- All of them were in Huntsville/Madison except 1 (Rattlesnake Saloon).
- I ate at Atlanta Bread Company 3 times more than the next closest one (location, location, location).
- The coolest number was a playing card from Alchemy Coffee. Taco Mama gets runner up with their red triangles.
- Atlanta Bread Company, Nothing But Noodles, and Jason’s Deli all updated their numbers while I was doing this.
- Restaurants have distinct ranges (1 to 50, 50 to 99).
- There are places that have numbers higher than 100. Touchstar Cinemas Madison Square 12, Panera Bread, and Jason’s Deli all went above 100.
- Panera Bread and Jason’s Deli (later on) use buzzers with a number.
Some had stickers with a number, some were digital. - Min: 1 Max: 280 Average: 39.65
- Sum: 5076 Count: 128 Median: 33
- The number “16” occurred 5 times (and 4 of those were from Atlanta Bread).
- I got to the point where I wanted to ask for a specific number to get more unique numbers, but I didn’t.
