The end of humanity is imminent. Alfred, an extraterrestrial, has spent the last 50,000 years observing Earth for his employer, the Intergalactic Corp—they run the local galactic cluster. Alfred’s monitoring equipment has predicted that all human life will end in thirty days, along with his current assignment. Tragic as that is, he is more concerned about starting over on a new planet and waiting millennia for things to become entertaining again. The Corp strictly forbids its observers from interfering with their assignments—but there’s a loophole. Alfred just needs to convince the world’s biggest loser to single-handedly save the world.
